We are committed to maintaining the privacy of information that you might share with us while visiting our site and interacting with us online. This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) covers how we collect, use, and treat any personal information that you provide through the Adsero Security.com Website (the “Website” or “Site”). This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors to the Website (collectively, “Site Users” or “Users”), including casual Site Users who visit the Site to learn more about our services (“General Visitors”).

The portion of our Website that is accessible to all Site Users (the “General Site”) is designed to provide General Visitors with a range of information concerning (i) the services we offer;(ii) our security engineers and other professionals, and their experience; (iii) employment opportunities; and (v) other materials concerning our company. Through our General Site, for example, Users may request or be provided alerts, calendar invites, e-announcements and other communications from our marketing teams.

The types of information we may collect from you while visiting our Site generally falls into two broad categories: (i) Personal Information; and (ii) Anonymous Information. 5.2 Notifications, Promotions, and Communications. If you have signed up to receive email from us, we use your e-mail address to send alerts/newsletters, marketing content and other communications concerning Adsero Security, security developments, notifications, and other information relating to our Site and our company. In addition, we may use your Personal Information to invite you to seminars/briefings, or other functions we believe may be of interest to you, to provide you with promotional emails for our products, and for other marketing and advertising purposes. Periodically, we may choose to use Personal Information to send you news, bulletins, seminar and legal education announcements, and other information to General Visitors, and will use Personal Information to send such communications. We use Anonymous Information to analyze the effectiveness and performance of our Site, and for other similar purposes. In addition, from time to time, we may undertake or commission statistical and other summary analyses of the general behavior and characteristics of General Visitors, and may share Anonymous Information with third parties for this purpose. We may also create De-identified Information from Personal Information by excluding data (such as your name or email address) that makes the information personally identifiable to you.  Our use of Anonymous or De-identified Information is not restricted by this Privacy Policy.

6.1 IP Addresses; Logs. We may automatically collect and record information from your browser, including your IP address (the Internet address of your PC), the type and version of your Web browser, referrer addresses, the location from which the computer is routing, and other generally accepted log information. We may also record page views (hit counts) and other general statistical and tracking information, which will be aggregated with that of other General Visitors in order to understand how our Website is being used, and for security and monitoring purposes.

We, along with our third-party vendors, such as Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies or other third-party identifiers to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our website.

Opting out: You can set preferences for how Google advertises to you by using the Google Ad Settings page. Alternatively, you can opt out of the use of third-party cookies by visiting the Network Advertising initiative opt out page. You can permanently opt-out by using the Google Analytics Opt Out Browser add on.

7.2 HTML5 Local Storage.  HTML5 local storage is another way that browsers can distinguish your device from others as well as remember data that may be important for the functioning of the website.  Typically HTML5 local storage is only deleted if all Internet history, cache, and cookies are deleted.  You should check your browser software for how to delete HTML5 local storage in your particular case.

7.3 Other technologies. Our website may occasionally use other technologies both for purposes of advertising as well as for features and services.

8.1 Do-Not-Track.  Do-Not-Track is a public-private initiative that has developed a “flag” or signal that an Internet user may activate in the user’s browser software to notify websites that the user does not wish to be “tracked” by third-parties as defined by the initiative. The online community has not agreed on what actions, if any, should be taken by the websites that receive the “do not track” signal, and therefore Do-Not-Track is not yet standardized. Our website does not alter its behavior or change its services when it receives a “do-not-track” flag or signal from your browser.

8.2 Your Privacy and Ad Choices.  You can make decisions about your privacy and the ads you receive. You can control whether companies serve you on-line behavioral advertising by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance website and using its opt-out: https://www.aboutads.info/choices/.  The DAA opt-out requires that cookies not be blocked in your browser.

As an alternative to the DAA opt–out, you can also elect to block browser cookies from first parties (such as those from our website) and browser cookies from third parties (such as advertisers) by using the cookie blocking options built into your browser software.  If you block browser cookies, some parts of our website may not function correctly.  Also, blocking cookies will not stop third-parties from collecting IP address, data stored in “Flash” cookies, and certain other types of technical information that may uniquely identify your browser.

20.1  Compliance with Privacy Shield.  To the extent we transfer Personal Information from the European Union (EU) or Switzerland to the U.S., Adsero Security complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal data transferred from the EU and Switzerland to the U.S.  Adsero Security has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles.  If there is any conflict between the terms in this Privacy Policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern.  The Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over Adsero Security’s compliance with the Privacy Shield.  To learn more about the Privacy Shield program, and to view our certification, please visit www.privacyshield.gov.

International Mediation Rules

Adsero Security has further committed to refer unresolved Privacy Shield complaints to the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (“ICDR”), an alternative dispute resolution provider located in the United States. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint from us, or if we have not resolved your complaint, please contact or visit https://go.adr.org/privacyshield.html  for more information or to file a complaint.  The services of ICDR are provided at no cost to you.

20.3.  Third-Party Transfers.  To the extent Adsero Security transfers EU personal information it receives under the Privacy Shield to a third party acting as an agent on Adsero Security’s behalf, Adsero Security will remain liable for that third party’s processing of EU Personal Information in violation of the Privacy Shield Principles, unless Adsero Security proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
